Are you 100% vegan?
Are you an abolitionist?
Are you compassionate?

Then Elated needs YOU

  • Are you on the vegan journey?
  • Do you have a burning desire to raise awareness for animals?
  • Do you care about people too and want to help them live a more fulfilled life?
  • Are your favourite topics of conversation veganism and animal rights?
  • Are you friendly, non-confrontational, tolerant and polite?
  • Have you read: A Meaningful Life by Matt Ball at Vegan Outreach?
  • Are you reliable, dependable and professional?
  • Have you read: What You Can Do for further tips and resources on animal advocacy?
  • Do you care passionately and are you strongly motivated to make a difference
for ANIMALS, PEOPLE and the PLANET in this lifetime ?

Then Yes! please help Elated hand out pamphlets for a couple of hours a month.

People are clamouring for information on a compassionate lifestyle. Its a distinctly positive experience to be part of the global vegan education movement, which is entirely altruistic, benefiting animals, people and our beautiful planet.

:: Elated's Approach to Vegan Education
  • We may not all be perfect, 100% vegans all of the time, but if you are on the vegan journey and your goal is to one day be a level 10 vegan, living in a vegan world, then Elated needs you to help other compassionate people get onto their own vegan journey.
  • While at the Elated table we are being the best vegans we can be, so please don't wear, consume or promote animal products while you are volunteering at the stand.  This will embroil you in hours of time-wasting arguments that cloud the issue: which is helping the person you are talking to transition towards a vegan lifestyle.

And what is the best way to transition towards veganism?

    • introduce a vegan meal a week, or vegan day a week
    • save one animal at a time by choosing not to eat them
    • educate yourself on the truth behind the marketing myths
    • discover delicious vegan alternatives
    • make compassionate choices wherever possible
    • ... focus on the positive

  • Elated promotes compassion towards animals as the primary reason for a vegan lifestyle.  We are not offering veganism as a "diet".  The health benefits of a plant-based eating plan certainly strengthen the vegan argument; the impact on global warming is also a strong factor; but the primary focus of Elated is on alleviating the suffering of animals.  Veganism is not a diet, its a philosophy, a state of mind and a way of life based on the concept of ahimsa: that all life is sacred.

"Remember:

  • We don’t want to attack anything or anyone.
  • We don’t want to express our rage at how animals are raised and killed.
  • We don’t want to show how smart and enlightened we are.
  • We don’t want to “win an argument with a meat eater.”
  • We don’t want to gross out someone so they don’t eat meat at their next meal.

We do want people to open their hearts and minds to change. It all simplifies to this:

  • Buying meat, eggs, and dairy causes unnecessary suffering.
  • We can each choose not to cause this suffering."
— Please read: A Meaningful Life by Matt Ball at Vegan Outreach

  • Elated participates in non-confrontational, grassroots level activism. Do not harass or argue with passersbys: its counterproductive and may result in us being asked to leave or denied future bookings at that venue. Let the confrontational people go on their way. You will be amazed at how many positive people you meet at the table — save your energy for them.
  • You are not expected to have all the answers. in fact it is far more productive not to enter into any debate on any issue. Focus on reducing suffering for animals and humans and direct people's attention to the relevant pamphlet when they have specific questions. Ask them to read the literature, or watch the dvd and then contact us if they need further information.
Together We Can Do It!
Let's build a core group of volunteers dedicated to saving farm animals.
  • Do you have any tips or suggestions for enhancing Elated's information tables?
  • Any ideas on how to raise funds to make Elated more effective?
  • Please bring a camera and take photos of the great people we meet on the day.

The stand seems to act as a magnet that attracts positive, compassionate people who are motivated to
change their lives and the world for the better.

You'll find it really is very rewarding, uplifting and fulfilling
to do something for animals by promoting vegan education.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Warm regards
Karen Johnson
