Elated was founded to raise awareness for the suffering of farm animals and promote a compassionate, vegan lifestyle. There is so much information available on the truth behind your food. Contrary to public opinion, it is really easy to follow a vegan
lifestyle. All it takes is a paradigm shift to truly see what lies behind the food on your table. |

• empowering people with information that will change their lives and end the suffering of animals I just had my best day tabling ever there were too many great stories to list here! For example, a teacher said she'd just finished writing a module on sustainable food for the world that morning, but after seeing my pamphlets, she was going to re-write it! I met an animal science graduate, who looked at the Even If and said, so sadly, "Yes, this is exactly what I learned and I can't work in this field anymore." Another man told me about how he went vegetarian 15 years ago after having to run a marketing campaign for an animal product manufacturer. He said that after seeing all the absolutely disgusting horror, he refused to run the campaign, resigned, and never ate animals again. He said that he was thinking about going vegan just last week and that it was perfect timing to meet me. |

I initially thought I could gently phase out the free range chicken or something and make what I referred to in my head as "educated compromises" but I'm delighted to say that I can't stomach meat:-) I was at a braai about a week after we spoke and I tried to do the chicken thing. And I couldn't. I felt grossly ill afterwards. That's probably been the biggest surprise." I've found that each time I visit a centre I will often meet the same person and while the first time they will refuse to even look at me, the next time they might take a pamphlet, but refuse to interact, then the third time they will stop and chat; asking tons of questions and honestly engaging. This is real, raw emotion, the stuff life is made of. Taking part in vegan education and leafleting is the most fulfilling thing I can do to help animals. So why don't YOU turn off the tv, get up off that couch, get out there and help spread the message Volunteer at the Elated information table - it'll be fun ! |

Malls visited include Howard Centre, Gardens Centre, Steenberg Village, Tokai Pick 'n Pay, Blue Route Mall, Longbeach Mall as well as the Enviropaedia Penguin Festival and the Animal Awareness Day held at Lanzerac. |
